The HRTO has updated its approach to scheduling and rescheduling mediations and hearings based on experience. The changes clarify what parties must do if they are unable to attend a mediation or hearing on the date(s) scheduled and want to reschedule. Parties are strongly encouraged to agree on alternative dates, but if that is not possible, the HRTO will set the new date(s) based on the information provided.

On June 30, 2008, the Human Rights Code Amendment Act 2006 came into force. As of that date, all claims of discrimination under the Human Rights Code are dealt with through applications filed directly with the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.
